- The Internal Implant: Surgically placed under the skin behind the ear, it converts the digital signals into electrical impulses and routes them to an electrode array in the cochlea, which stimulates the auditory nerve.
The brain then processes these electrical signals, interpreting them as the sounds and voices we recognize.
